VBCW

Hi, I recently started to build a small VBCW force for a sort of Belgian civil war scenario set up by The Tin Soldiers of Antwerp. My Flemish force will be based around my hometown and surrounding area close to the French and Walloon border. It will mostly consist of artisans, workers and farmers who took up arms to defend a independent Flanders. However this force is slowly building up I already started to build some armoured support and I only have 4 militiamen!

The armoured car was based onto a Spanish Civil War car used by one of the factions don't really know which. But the improvised armoured cars and even tankettes of the SCW are always a good source of inspiration!

The armoured car is build out of cartonboard textured with some silicone for a rought and welded look. I also added some rivets made out of small nails after that I coated the entire car several times with a dark grey color. Followed with a drybrush and some washes.

The entire force! Really a force to be feared! :p The men are Goumier command from Artizan Designs, others will probably be Westwind partisans or Musketeer Miniatures.

The armoured car on it's own, later on I may add some slogans. (and build some other vehicles)

American Marine Battalions

Hi, here's some progress on my marine battalions. They are fully painted but just need a bit of basing. All the miniatures are cheap replicas of the Airfix marines!

My existing US marine force:

A "raise the flag" base (3 figures)

The battalion 1 exist of

- 1 commander (1 figure)
- 4 squads of 4 bases (32 figures)

The battalion 2 exist of

- 1 commander (1 figure)
- 4 squads of 4 bases (32 figures)

The battalion 3 exist of (the 2 older battalions from another post united in a new battalion)

- 1 commander (1 figure)
- 4 squads of 4 bases (32 figures)
- 2 heavy support bases (4 figures)

The "raise the flag" base loosely based on the famous photo on top of mount Suribachi, Iwo Jima.

What's going on?

Hi, It has been a while since I posted something. So here I am, what have I been doing?

First of all I started to repaint some of my Perry napoleonic French infantry and I'm planning to paint 2 full boxes of them. If the test figure is approved, a photo will follow. As part of my French napoleonic army, I also purchased a box of plastic heavy cavalry sometime ago! (stashed away somewhere)

Secondly I've finished 2 marine battalions however they still need some basing. On a painting spree I also started to paint a American airborne battalion and the drivers for the supporting jeeps.

I've also been terrain building: added some planks to my british fort, build some sort of stone dikes as part of my native capital, based my shanty town and made an armoured car for my tiny VBCW force.

Well, that's all I hope to post some picture in the near future!

Armored support

Hi, here are some pictures from some armored suits I've received from Greywolf of the LAF forum. The models are 1/35 scale "Melusine" Panzer Kampf Anzug and are made by Yellow Submarine. The kits are pre painted in all sorts of camoflage and some of the melusines have open hatches.

The suits are sold in large quantity packs of 30, I think. The manufacturer is Yellow submarine, a Japan based company.

The suits that I've recived were camouflaged with a green pattern with the exception of 1 camouflaged with a desert pattern. All the suits have movable arms which can be positioned to fit the AT weapons.

The 3 green camouflaged suits of which 2 are armed with antitank weapons. The suit in the middle of the picture has a removable hatch.

Thanks to Greywolf for the gift!

Hi, here are some comparison photos of the chinese copies of some Airfix Germans. I've took some pictures with the real soldiers and the fake ones flanked by a ruler (cm).

Sorry about the delay APJ, I hope they are helpfull!

European trees

Hi, here's are some picture of a recent experiment on how to make cheap european style trees. They turned out quit nice and again they are simple and cheap to build. The most costly part of the trees is the flockage on the tree and base. The body of the tree is made out of branches pulled out a spare piece of fencing material.

Trees built?

- 6 small ones
- 3 large ones

Build time?

- Again an hour (excluding dryingtime)

Another shot of the trees.

A picture with all the trees.
