Shieldwolf Miniatures: Dracantropii Kingdoms Ancient Guardians Reviewed!

Today we will take a closer look at the fantasy Dracantropii Kingdoms Ancient Guardians from Shieldwolf Miniatures. The companies' goal is to create unique, highly affordable & top quality tabletop armies for both fantasy and science fiction tabletop games. These wargaming and roleplaying miniatures are produced in either hard-plastic for the main infantry troops or high-quality resin for the monsters, siege engines, heroes and other characters. The Shieldwolf Miniatures mission is to evolve the Shieldwolf World, a universe where races clash for absolute dominion across the most exceptional, wild and unbelievable locations! So let's take a quick look!

Dracantropii Kingdoms Ancient Guardians

The Shieldwolf Miniatures Dracantropii Kingdoms Ancient Guardians are supplied in blisters of three multi-part high-quality resin models along with the necessary plastic bases. As you can see in the pictures below the models are supplied in multiple parts with three unique bulking bodies and separate weapons, arms and tails. These Dracantropii Kingdoms Ancient Guardians are armed with some heavy two-handed weapons such as war hammers, battle axes and halberds decorated with ancient carvings, ready to smash their way through enemy formations with great ease. These miniatures are designed for fantasy skirmish & mass battle tabletop wargames and miniature roleplaying adventures but can of course also be collected and painted for display. The design and casting quality of these miniatures is superb as you can see in the pictures.

Assembling the Dracantropii Kingdoms Ancient Guardians

As you can see in the picture above, these Dracantropii Kingdoms Ancient Guardians are extremely well casted in high-quality resin with an absolute minimum of flash to be removed. As these are of course resin miniatures there is always some cleaning to do but in this case not so much to clean except for some very minor flash and sprue vents from the manufacturing process. The miniatures are supplied in multiple pieces so you will need to assemble these using superglue and although most parts fit well you might need to repose some of the weapons arms to fit the bodies. This can be done by submersing the parts in hot water and straightening the parts before submersing them in cold water to fix the readjustment.

When you have glued all the parts you will notice that there are some gaps that will need to be filled in with either greenstuff or other filling materials such as Milliput etc. As these are resin miniatures you also might want to wash the parts in hot soapy water before assembling to remove possible casting residue from the manufacturing process. As these require a bit more work and skill than hard-plastic miniatures you might want to take your time as it certainly rewards in the end result. In the pictures below you can see the assembled miniatures. Note that I haven't filled in the gaps so you can see the result before filling in those & I have used other bases for my own collection.

The Scale Comparison

In the picture below you can see these Dracantropii Kingdoms Ancient Guardians next to some standard historical and fantasy hard-plastic miniatures from Wargames Atlantic and Gripping Beast. As you can see these new miniatures are quite menacing and large next to these standard infantry miniatures.

Make sure to take a look at these great-looking Shieldwolf Miniatures Dracantropii Kingdoms Ancient Guardians and pitch these excellent miniatures on your tabletop battlefield or collect and paint them for your display cabinet. The design and casting quality of these miniatures is excellent as you can see in the pictures.
